Will it be updated again someday?

Yes, while Danik is busy with work, he is working on the next update.
There is no ETA though as far as I know.

As for what it will include:

The next release will have a tool that lets you copy and paste a canvas tile, including content in all layers. It's not perfect but hopefully that should help with the most important use cases, above all when making animations with multiple layers.

Like CandyFace said the next update will have better animation tools among other things. My day job is taking most of my time and energy, but it's almost ready so hopefully within a few weeks.
