As a workaround, because all your images are 16x16, you could use the website below to make a giant spritesheet, then import that into PyxelEdit, setting the size and offset properly. Using this technique you only have to import once and can export and edit all of the images quickly.

To export as a spritesheet on the website, first clear the stitches, then import all your images, click the download button and choose spritesheet :)
The only problem I can see now is that you have to rename all those files, unless the original files are sorted as numbers or something like that.
