It sounds like you didn't add your tiles to the "Tiles" window. Here's an example how to do it.
Use the tileplacer tool, and cmd+click on mac or ctrl+click on windows on each frame, to add it to your collection.
If you do this you should be able to export and get each tile into a separate file ;)
