Real time colour replacement

I've been using the program and found that id love more simple control over colour

I thought the best way would be to select colours and change them in real time with the existing colour tools.

I'd like to be able to change all my pictures colours as if i'm changing my brushes, selecting blue and changing it and its various shades either 1 by 1 or all at once into whatever i want and seeing it happen to my picture as i did it.

I'm not sure if this is possible for pyxel edit or exactly how much work it would be, but being able to change all my images colours like this would be really helpful.

To be clear

Selecting and changing multiple colours in real time and preferably being able to group shades of the same colour so they can be changed together into the new colours counterparts

is what i'm suggesting. If not real time then a menu that stayed open to use after application would be the next best thing.

Just imagine changing up your colours with a simple click of some colour menu with each colour ready to change as easily as your brush.

I agree! I'm also a new user and am having a good time with the program in general. The tile system and UI in particular are nicer than Graphics Gale. However, I do wish for instant color changing- having the color wheel and input options as a window I can have that's always open.

Makes it easier when not working with palettes to use a color, then drop the brightness down a bit, and then apply the new color without spending an additional action to pop open the color window.

You can't do it for multiple colors, but Pyxel Edit can already do this for single colors.
Add your color to the palette (Use the "+" button in the Palette panel), then right-click on the swatch and choose "Replace color."

You can then adjust the color and see the effect in real time.
