This is not a really important thing but it is annoying. Whenever I want to export a picture, it defaults to auto as format type. I never use auto and I always use png. So maybe if it saves the last used format for the next time you export. I think a lot of people stick with one format and don't switch formats in the same session. You don't even have to save the settings on the users hard drive, it can just be something that resets everytime someone uses PE, it'll just save some time.
Edit: Just realized that PE does do this but only for the same image. I guess that's fine then, no need for my idea then. Do other people in the PE Forum think that it would be good to keep these settings even for different projects open? I personally always use .png and I'm pretty sure most people stick with a file format.

Yeah, the coming release remembers all the export settings per document, but it might be a good idea to also remember the last used settings when exporting a new document.

It really depends on the user in the end. I think that gamedevs often use the same file format every time they export but people just doing pixel art might want to export as jpg for static images and gif for animations. It really depends on the user in the end. I would suggest making it remember the export setting even for new documents since it would be nice for game devs and for pixel artists, it doesn't matter anyway cause they would have to change the format either way. Not a big deal though.
