You can open the image, resize it to a suitable size, and copy the sketch into a background layer in your character document. There is no way to have a higher resolution background reference image though.

Hi, I'm new with pyxel edit and I wonder if I can use a scanned as a template for my main character such as a sketch image.
If so, as would be done?
