Totaly agree! Additionally I would prefer that invisible layers can't be manipulated at all.

Currently toggling visibility [eye] or info [...] buttons for a layer selects that layer as the active layer.
suggested feature or change would be to decouple layer options from layer selection.
Turning a layer invisible currently selects that layer. Which leads to drawing on the invisible layer. Most of the time resulting in having to hit undo and double check what layer is active. It's just an odd workflow and counter to what most drawing applications do.
