Change color of background

A simple request, I work at night and the white color of the background is too strong sometimes. I normally create a background layer with a dark gray, but then I can't use the "right mouse click to erase" option of the Pen.

Yes, this is a pretty common request. I will try to add this for the next release.
In the latest version (0.3.108) you can hold shift to only pick color from the current layer, which solves the second issue. Customizable bg colors would still be nice to have though.
