Yes, you should be able to use a single tile by rotating it. Are you using the R key/slider to rotate it, or the right click menu option Rotate tile CW/CCW?

Hi,
I'm creating a basic tile set like this:
I've managed to flip the middle edge at the top to make the bottom one (n.4) but I can't figure out how to also place it where 5 is to make the left and right edges. When I place the tile and transform it to rotate it, it also rotates the original tile. Is it possible to use the same placed tile but rotated at different angles or do I have to copy/paste and then transform?

Ha, I didn't realise I could press R to rotate. That works, thanks.
