Panning using Space key and trackpoint doesn't work on my thinkpad. Using pan tool is fine (selecting it using cursor), doing quick pan while holding space doesn't react at all.
To reproduce:
1. Hold space
2. Press mouse button
3. Move cursor
4. Observe no panning
