I don't know why but sometimes my color gets stuck on this broken ! color. I try to color pick another color but it stays stuck on the broken ! color no matter what I do. Why can I not select a new color? In this gif I am trying to select a new color and draw with it but as you can see, it doesn't change when I use the selector. This never used ti happen, currently occurring on 0.4.6.

That's a zero alpha color, which is why it doesn't draw anything. The question is how it ended up selecting that color though, that must be a bug. Do you use the right mouse button to switch between the pen and eraser, or what is your workflow usually?

I've been aware of this for a long time so it's not bug related to 0.4.6. it happens if you color pick on a tile with no color information.
Selecting a color in the popup does not affect alpha, you have to press on alpha and set it to 255 again.
Using the color picker and selecting a different color works too.
