If you don't need it you can just resize the layers panel until the info panel is no longer visible.
Info panel can't be collapsed or resized

For me Info panel is always full sized. I can't collapse it or resize (vertically). It's not a big deal but sometimes annoying. (i'm not sure it was reported before, but search did not show similar issues)
