How to scroll horizontally and vertically

Hi, I have stupid question. I came from photosop and I am still learning how this program works. How do I scroll vertically or horizontally? The mousewheel resizes canvas, ctrl or shift and mousewheel does nothing. I dont want to everytime use the hand tool as it is really slow to work using this method. Thank you
