To be able to choose how large/ how many tiles a frame can utilize as opposed to the current 1 tile = 1 frame. I think this just allows for much more flexibility in how we can animate and allows for some room for error rather than creating a new file because the tiles were to small. Well, I'm not so smart, I found out how to resize the canvas, which is amazing by the way.
