Color Picker Hotkey

I really like Pyxel Edit and use it all the time, but the color picker hotkey as alt is super annoying, I would love to be able to change it to a different key, and it's honestly my only big issue with this program.

    Hi rbelmont000

    That's quite odd, since alt is the hotkey that most painting programs and especially photoshop like to use for picking up a color.

    No worries though, you can just bind the shortcut to a different key.
    Go to this folder:
    Windows: C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\PyxelEdit\Settings
    You can enter %appdata% as the path in windows explorer to find the Roaming folder quickly.
    Mac: /Users/[username]/Library/Application Support/PyxelEdit/Settings

    Open keybindings.json and insert this:
    [
      {
      "keyString": "C", // Key to bind to
      "shitKey": false, // Hold down shift?
      "action": "quick_pick_color_action" // Color picker action
      }
    ]

    Save the file and open PyxelEdit.
    You can find all the actions available in the Readme file, located in the same folder :)

  • Oh man, thats going to help me out a lot. I didn't think there were custom keybindings at all. Thanks a lot for the help!
