Looking to make some more character sprites Isometric

I'm looking to create a game over the summer period and was wondering if anyone could give me any tips on improving my isometric sprite, I've done so far. I feel its ok not amazing as I did use a reference from a style of game, Riviera the promised lands as a muse I used the character Ein as a reference.

The main thing I struggle with is planning a character out. I would like to make a female character next, female/cat women, so it would involve a tail animation and ear twitching etc, any tips for starting a character off? I will be using the same feet generally so that will give me a base. The main thing I struggle with planning bodies out, any tips at all?
